She Left the CEO and Reclaimed Her Empire
Chapter 492
That evening, Camille prepared to return to Lakeview with her family.
They arrived at the airport together.
Everyone settled into business class seats.
Chloe sat by the window with Isaac and his family on the right side.
Camille and Marianne took the middle section on the left.
With Isaac watching Chloe, Camille helped adjust Marianne's seat.
She was speaking with her grandmother when Helena, Nora, and the others approached.
The Lancaster family showed no surprise at seeing the Hartwells.
Smiles spread across their faces instead.
They clearly knew about the Hartwell family's return to Montreux.
They were aware they shared this flight back to Lakeview.
Giselle looked at Camille with a provocative smile.
She spoke deliberately loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Grandma, Aunt Nora, some people visited the hospital daily when Mrs. Harrington was ill."
"They tried currying favor, clinging to Helena, thinking it would stop Damien from divorcing."
"But as soon as Mrs. Harrington recovered, before Selene even spoke, Damien immediately scheduled the divorce paperwork."
"Before, when someone dragged their feet refusing to finalize it, I was worried."
"But Selene said she trusted Damien to handle it—and she was right."
The Lancasters knew Giselle aimed these words at the Hartwells.
Nora chuckled lightly and patted Giselle's hand.
She threw a mocking glance toward Camille and Marianne.
Helena's expression remained cool and unsurprised.
She didn't even look at the Hartwell family.
She simply glided past them and seated herself elegantly.
Owen and Marianne knew Giselle's words targeted them.
Seeing Camille addressed that way, Marianne's expression darkened further.
Owen, arranging luggage, let his face harden.
Giselle walked slowly, deliberately drawing things out.
Passengers behind grew impatient.
Someone urged, "Why are you standing around chatting? Move along!"
The Lancasters had been feeling smug recently.
Giselle, displeased at being rushed, turned to snap.
Camille, hidden by a nearby luggage bin, stretched out her foot.
Giselle stumbled, falling forward straight onto Nora.
Both tumbled to the ground together.
Helena had just sat down.
Seeing this, her expression changed instantly.
She jumped up to help.
"Mom, are you alright?"
Giselle scrambled up from the floor, face dark with fury.
She glared sharply at Camille.
"It was you! You did that on purpose!"
Camille looked at her coldly.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"You—!" Giselle wanted to retort.
The passenger who complained earlier spoke up again, this time defending Camille.
"You were too busy gossiping to watch where you were going—don't go blaming others!"
The carpeted floor provided little cushion.
Giselle had knocked her mouth against an armrest.
Blood trickled from her teeth.
Furious, she wanted to argue further.
The impatient passenger barked, "If you don't want to fly, then get off the plane."
"Stop blocking everyone else!"
Other passengers chimed in, annoyed.
"Exactly!"
"You..." Giselle trembled with indignation.
With more people staring, Helena cut in.
"Giselle, sit down."
Seething, Giselle didn't dare disobey.
Before sitting, she shot Camille a venomous glare.
"Just you wait."
Camille ignored her.
She calmly finished adjusting Marianne's seat before sitting down.
Nora had struck her forehead, looking disheveled.
Seeing her mother's injury and elegant clothes in disarray, Helena's expression darkened.
She hadn't witnessed what happened but knew it was Camille.
After having a stewardess tend to Nora's wound, she returned to her seat.
On her way back, she shot Camille a cold, cutting look.
Noticing the gaze, Camille met it evenly with one just as frosty.
Helena knew confronting Camille here would only escalate things.
If caught on camera and spread online, their side might end up worse off.
With that thought, she cast Camille a final cold glance and returned to her seat in silence.
