Gabriel's message popped up first. "Ran into him again this morning?"

Camille sighed as she typed her reply. "Unfortunately."

Being trapped in divorce proceedings while constantly bumping into her ex? Exhausting didn't even begin to cover it.

After two hectic days at the office, Wednesday arrived. Hugo tagged both Camille and Gabriel in the group chat.

Gabriel was already airborne, en route to another province. After getting briefed, Camille gathered her team and headed to Vertex Dynamics with several engineers.

This marked her first return since Damien had transferred control to Selene.

As they exited their vehicles, Everett stepped out of a nearby car.

His existing partnership with Vertex Dynamics remained unchanged despite the leadership shift.

The only difference? Instead of dealing with Damien, he now worked directly with Selene. Their eyes met briefly before both quickly looked away.

The moment they entered Vertex Dynamics's lobby, Selene came into view.

She appeared cornered by yet another overenthusiastic admirer - this one brandishing a ridiculously oversized bouquet of crimson roses.

Facing the entrance, Selene spotted Camille and Everett immediately.

This was their first encounter since learning about Tristan's feelings for Camille.

Selene's expression darkened instantly.

Noticing Selene's irritation, Everett approached. "Problem?"

Camille didn't waste a glance on them. Whatever drama unfolded wasn't her concern. She marched straight toward the elevator with her team.

Minutes ticked by. The elevator remained delayed, but Selene's voice carried across the lobby. "Thanks for intervening."

"Anytime."

Everett's voice held concern. "Doesn't this building have security? Why wasn't he stopped?"

Selene exhaled wearily. "He bribed them."

"That's unacceptable," Everett frowned. "So he can just show up whenever?"

"He won't," Selene said coolly. "I'll have Damien handle it later."

Everett lowered his gaze. After a pause, he murmured, "Understood."

By then, they'd caught up to Camille's group just as the elevator doors opened.

Everyone entered together.

The NovaSight Labs employees accompanying Camille recognized the new management situation. They also knew Selene. One offered a polite greeting.

Now officially in charge, Selene acknowledged them with a nod. "Appreciate your team's hard work."

"Happy to assist," came the prompt reply.

Selene maintained her usual poised demeanor.

Then there was Camille.

Everett noticed her icy expression as she deliberately ignored Selene.

The engineers had never witnessed direct interaction between the two women, despite multiple visits.

Now, watching Camille treat both Selene and Everett as invisible - with neither attempting to greet her either -
