Selene smiled serenely. "Yes."

Seeing her composure, another ventured, "And you...?" Selene chuckled. "We get along splendidly. Chloe adores me. We have a wonderful relationship." Since it was work hours, the gossip session ended quickly.

At 5 PM, Selene was finishing paperwork when Chloe burst into her office. "Selene!" The woman's face lit up as she scooped up the giggling child. "You're early."

Chloe nodded enthusiastically. "Mm-hmm!"

Selene stroked her hair. "Give me ten minutes to finish, then we'll go to Harrington Group to meet your father."

"Okay!" Chloe chirped.

The child's sudden appearance had caused whispers. But seeing their interaction erased all doubts.

"Having his daughter visit her at work? That's a power move. Mr. Harrington doesn't play around when it comes to Selene."
