She Left the CEO and Reclaimed Her Empire

Chapter 295

Damien responded immediately. "Understood."

Saturday morning arrived with crisp autumn air as Camille drove to the Rutherford estate. Most of the Rutherford family resided abroad, leaving only Owen and a handful of servants present when she arrived.

Hearing of her arrival, Owen personally came to greet her. "Camille, you're here?"

"Yes," she smiled. Though he appeared healthier than expected, she couldn't help noticing, "You've lost weight."

Owen chuckled. "A little, but my spirits are high—no need to worry."

They moved inside where Owen served tea. His failure to ask about Damien's absence confirmed what Camille suspected—he already knew about their impending divorce.

Not only did Owen avoid mentioning Damien, but he also didn't bring up Chloe—another clear sign he knew about the custody arrangements.

Their conversation flowed easily over tea until interrupted twenty minutes later by a maid announcing another guest's arrival.

Owen showed no intention of greeting them, instead offering Camille pastries. She accepted politely, sampling a delicate macaron.

Then came the butler's voice from the side entrance. "Mr. Harrington, this way please."

Owen glanced toward the sound, his expression immediately darkening.

The clicking of designer heels confirmed Camille's suspicion. She turned slightly to see Damien entering with Selene Lancaster on his arm.

Both noticed her immediately. Damien gave her the briefest nod before addressing Owen. "Mr. Rutherford."

Owen responded with a cold grunt. Undeterred, Damien continued, "Mr. Rutherford, may I introduce Selene Lancaster."

Selene acted as if Camille were invisible, offering Owen a practiced smile. "A pleasure, Mr. Rutherford."

Though Owen clearly knew about the divorce and Damien's relationship with Selene, he hadn't expected such a brazen public appearance so soon.

"Did I invite you?" Owen asked icily. "Then don't address me so familiarly."

"Mr. Rutherford," Damien pressed, clearly displeased by the reception.

Owen remained stone-faced.

Unfazed, Damien guided Selene to the opposite sofa, making himself at home. Just days after taking Selene to meet his family, he was now parading her before Owen?

With divorce papers nearly signed, was he so eager to introduce his mistress to everyone important in his life?

Camille kept her eyes lowered, sipping her tea in silence.

When Owen made no move to serve them, Damien reached for the teapot himself.

Owen slapped his hand away sharply. "Don't touch what I've prepared!"

Damien smirked. "Shall I brew my own then?"
