Chapter 233

Camille had no choice but to hand the flowers to Damien when he reached out.

She deliberately avoided looking at Arlo or Tristan, walking straight to the hospital bed. "How are you feeling, Grandma Helena?" she asked.

"Still some pain, but manageable," Helena replied weakly.

The elderly woman looked exhausted after her recent surgery.

She grasped Camille's hand gently. "You've been working all day. Have you eaten? Why don't you join Damien and his friends for dinner?"

"I already ate at the office," Camille answered curtly.

Noticing Camille's continued distance from Damien, Helena didn't press further.

Their conversation lasted only a few more minutes before Helena grew tired. As Camille prepared to leave, Helena insisted Damien walk her out since they were all heading to dinner anyway.

In the elevator, Arlo kept staring at Camille with undisguised curiosity. She turned sharply. "See something interesting?"

"Almost," he smirked.

Camille ignored him.

When the doors opened, she strode out first, maintaining several paces between herself and the men.

Arlo leaned toward Damien, whispering, "Her attitude toward you has changed dramatically. Has she really moved on? I find that hard to believe."

Damien watched Camille's retreating back without responding.

Tristan, who hadn't heard, asked, "What are you two discussing?"

Arlo repeated his question.

Tristan reacted identically to Damien - both men simply observed Camille's departing figure in silence.

At the hospital entrance, Damien suddenly called out, "Chloe is still at the Hartwell residence."

Camille's step faltered momentarily, but she continued walking to her car without acknowledgment.

That's when she noticed Selene still waiting outside.

While Camille headed straight for her vehicle, the three men approached Selene instead.

Camille drove off without a backward glance, returning directly to the Hartwell estate.

"Mom! You're back!" Chloe exclaimed when Camille entered, looking up from where she played with Noah and Isaac.

Camille closed the door against the winter chill, removing her coat. "Yes."

Chloe abandoned her tablet to hug Camille's legs. "Dad said I can stay with you for days! After visiting Grandma tomorrow, can we go skiing?"

Before Camille could answer, Noah and Isaac chimed in, "Yes, Camille! Let's all go!"

"Alright," Camille agreed.

Chloe cheered, grabbing her phone. "I'm calling Dad to tell him!"

Camille didn't listen to their conversation, heading upstairs instead.

The next morning at the hospital, Selene was absent, though Damien appeared to have relocated his office there temporarily.

When Camille and Chloe arrived, he was reviewing documents.

"Dad!" Chloe called.

Before Damien could respond, she noticed the side table laden with trendy snacks, fruits, and drinks popular with children.
