Five Years Gone, She Returned a Billionaire
Chapter 363: Vanessa Stepped Out of Bayview Apartments
Vanessa stepped out of Bayview Apartments. Harrison trailed behind her persistently.
"Stop following me," she snapped coldly. "If you truly want to help, just leave me alone."
She slid into her car and instructed the driver. "Take me to Harborview Hospital." Harborview Hospital was Kingsport's most exclusive private women's clinic. Harrison watched her car disappear down the street. Anguish twisted his features. The child... Could it be his? But what could he possibly do? He was merely an assistant. Powerless. Useless.
Inside the car, Vanessa examined the recording device in her palm. A vicious, triumphant smile curled her lips.
She picked up her phone and sent a text to Helena. Mother, I'm terrified. My heart is shattered. But I have no other choice. I will fight to survive this. Next, she texted Margaret Prescott. Aunt Margaret, I longed to join your family. I dreamed of keeping this baby. But... I'm so sorry. She powered off her phone immediately after sending the messages. At Bennett Manor... Helena was reviewing documents when the message arrived. She shot up from her chair, panic seizing her. She frantically called Vanessa's number.
A robotic voice answered. "The number you have dialed is currently unavailable."
"Philip!" she screamed, her voice trembling. "Philip! Get in here! Send someone to find Vanessa! Now!"
At the same time, Margaret Prescott received her message. While she had never particularly liked the girl, Vanessa had gifted her a Jules skincare set just days prior. Margaret had failed to acquire the sold-out product herself. Vanessa's thoughtful gift had impressed her friends, elevating Vanessa in Margaret's eyes.
Concerned by the ominous text, Margaret immediately ordered an investigation. Within three minutes, both women received identical reports. Ms. Bennett is pregnant with a male heir. Derek Prescott is forcing her to terminate the pregnancy. She suffers from a coagulopathy. The procedure could be fatal... The news was a thunderbolt from a clear sky. Helena swayed, her legs buckling beneath her. Philip caught her, his voice urgent. "Get the car! We're going to the hospital! Now! Contact the Prescotts! Tell them to meet us there!"
Henry Bennett was incensed. "What is Derek thinking? Bring him to me! He will explain this outrage! We will not let this stand!" Though Vanessa often disappointed him, she was still his granddaughter. His own blood. How dare Derek treat her this way? The entire Bennett family erupted in fury.
At the Prescott estate...
Derek's parents were equally stunned. Vanessa was carrying a Prescott heir! A boy! How could this pregnancy be terminated? The Prescotts were already on shaky ground with the Bennetts. If Vanessa, with her blood disorder, died during the procedure... The consequences would be catastrophic for their family! Victor Prescott's eyes blazed with fury. He glared at his assistant. "Find that disgraceful son of mine! Drag him back here! Immediately!" Derek was currently speeding toward Willowcrest Estate, determination hardening his resolve. He would have Sienna Bennett tonight. She would finally be his.
He had waited an eternity for this moment. Even though Lucas had already tainted her, Derek still craved her. He wanted her body. He wanted her vast fortune. Suddenly, several black sedans screeched in front of his car, cutting him off. Derek slammed on the brakes, his frown deepening. Doors flew open. Bodyguards emerged. Their leader was the Prescott family's head of security, Henry Vale. Henry marched to Derek's window.
