After I Walked Away, My Billionaire Ex Begged Me Back
Chapter 288: Her Fingers Dug into the Second-floor Railing
Her fingers dug into the second-floor railing, nails nearly piercing the metal. "Go ahead and drag me if you dare!"
Grant Holloway stepped out of the bedroom, his gaze icy. "Ten minutes are up. Since you refuse to behave, don't blame me for being ruthless. Mrs. Palmer, call security."
"Yes, sir."
Paige Lawson suddenly paled, clutching her abdomen as she curled inward. "It hurts... my stomach..."
The man remained unmoved.
Mrs. Palmer stood frozen, unsure what to do.
Paige slid to the floor, her silk nightgown soaked with sweat. Trembling, she grabbed Grant's pant leg. "Save the baby... please..."
"Sir, Miss Lawson seems genuinely unwell..." Mrs. Palmer whispered hesitantly.
Grant turned away without a word. "You handle it."
Mrs. Palmer looked ready to cry.
Being a housekeeper these days was pure torment!

The ambulance's blue lights pierced the predawn darkness as it entered the gated villa community.
By coincidence, Paige was admitted to the same hospital where Catherine Holloway was recuperating.
The morning call jolted Catherine awake. Mrs. Palmer's trembling voice recounted the previous night's drama.
"Outrageous!" Catherine rushed to the maternity ward.
Before she even entered, hysterical screams echoed down the hallway—
"Doctor! My baby can't be in danger!"
"Please save him! I'll do anything!"
The doctor attempted to calm her. "Ma'am, you must relax. This level of agitation will harm the fetus—"
Paige dug her nails into the doctor's wrist. "Tell me the truth! Is my baby still alive? Did you even try? My husband is the CEO of Holloway Holdings—money is no object!"
Catherine strode in and delivered a stinging slap.
"Enough!"
Clutching her cheek, Paige shrieked, "You old witch! This is all your fault!"
"Keep this up and you'll lose the baby for real!" Catherine's temple throbbed. "Can't you hear the doctor telling you to calm down?"
"If you hadn't forced me to learn etiquette, I wouldn't have fought with Grant!" Paige pounded the hospital bed in hysterics. "If anything happens to my child, it's on your hands!"
Catherine trembled with rage.
The fool didn't realize—this baby was the only thing securing her place in the Holloway family now.
